| Electronic Specifications |
|
The following specifications are the guidelines for setting up your created file to submit electronically to Wepco Printing. Include in each file only the information needed for printing. Delete any unnecessary artwork and/or notes from the file. If you have any questions regarding the creating of your file, please contact us.
| | | | QUARKXPRESS® 6.1 | | | MICROSOFT WORD | | | ADOBE ILLUSTRATOR® | - When creating your files, please create one item per document.
- “Create Outlines” on ALL text.
If you’re using an imported graphic in your illustrator document, be sure to include the graphic file with your document. - Please place all graphics at 100%
Color all text and graphics using process CMYK. All placed graphics must also be CMYK. Please be sure to send along any placed graphics. - Clip-art saved as EPS.
| | ADOBE PHOTOSHOP® | - Please scan photos using at least 300 dpi at the size needed for placing at 100%.
Use CMYK, not RGB, (If RGB colors are used in your files, the necessary conversion to CMYK will change the appearance of the colors, usually dramatically, when printed.) - B&W Photographs should be saved as Grayscale .tif images
- If bleeds are needed, allow 1/8” for the bleed per side.
The files should be saved as a Macintosh® TIFF with LZW compression. (Using LZW compression will cut the memory size of your file by more than half.)
| | OTHER PHOTOS | JPEGS are okay, provided they are of a very high resolution, a very high quality setting, and a large document size. “JPEG format relies on lossy compression, which selectively removes data”.
| | OTHER INFORMATION | PLEASE INCLUDE HARD COPY PROOFS at 100% size. Multiple page jobs should be created in 1 document with multiple pages, not multiple documents with single pages. Do not use a predefined hairline width rule in any applications. Specific Pantone Spot Colors that will be used for printing should be designated within the layout program. If the job is to be printed full color, a CMYK color should be made and used. If a pantone color is printed CMYK, a color shift will occur. Any unused colors should be eliminated from the color pallet.
| | ART CHARGES | - You may select us to make the required changes or you may make them yourself.
- There will be a $45.00/ hour charge for any changes we make or a $10.00 minimum.
